As a means of introduction, owner Michael Maillette apprenticed cabinet making under his father, Ted Maillette, who established Northfield Cabinet Shop in 1948 in Northfield, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. Northfield Cabinet Shop built custom cabinetry for over 30 years in the Chicago North Shore and downtown Chicago areas before relocating to Conover, WI in 1981. Michael became owner of the business in 1989 and contracted with Daniel Benson for 20 years. During this time, he met Fred Wiedenbauer of Wiedenbauer Builders LLC and John Wahlberg of Wahlberg Construction. Michael continues to work closely with Fred and John on custom cabinetry projects around northern Wisconsin and beyond.
